Alisha Vivian is a shining example of a student who has studied with us on a number of courses, and has now achieved her ambition of becoming a teacher.
Alisha’s Higher Education journey began at Stafford College when she chose to study the BTEC Extended Diploma Sport and Exercise Science at Stafford College. She then moved on to study for the Foundation Degree Sport Coaching and Physical Education.
After leaving us as our Higher Education Student of the Year, Alisha chose to study at Staffordshire University and graduated in 2019 with a First-Class BSc (Hons) Degree in Physical Education and Youth Sport Coaching. Combining her passion for sport and teaching, Alisha has recently completed her PGCE in Secondary Education and is about to embark on her first teaching position in September.
Alisha said, “Studying at Stafford College equipped me with the skills and knowledge required to successfully pursue a career in teaching as a result of very enjoyable courses and supportive lecturers.”
Commenting on Alisha’s success, Curriculum Leader for Higher Education and BTEC Sport, Jack Bullock said: “We have a well-established and longstanding history of providing outstanding provision for our Further and Higher Education students and Alisha’s case is testament to that process. It is often the case that many of our students who study with us at BTEC or A Level opt to continue at Stafford because they know of the excellent, personable education they will receive and can clearly see the consistent stream of success stories emanating from our department. As with many students, Alisha was able to pursue her dream of becoming a PE teacher and it is privilege not only to have taught her but to know that we have played a part in recognising that ambition.”
