In a recent partnership between Newcastle College and local digital marketing agency, Netbiz Group, students studying the HNC/D in Graphic Design, will now have the opportunity to opportunity to gain valuable insights in to agency life, where they will experience working on a live brief, from concept to completion.
Running throughout November, the project will require the students to work and communicate as a team and experience additional roles, such as project and client management, to ensure the expectations of the customer are delivered. The brief is to create a new online jewellery brand and the students will be working on logo concepts, website designs and various forms of digital marketing collateral such as eNewsletter templates and assets for Social Media.
Each week, a different student from the College will be based at the Netbiz offices in Newcastle-under-lyme, to get a flavour of what makes a successful agency tick. At the end of the course, the group will present their ideas and reasons behind the direction they have taken the project.

The HNC/D Graphic Design course at Newcastle College is a two year, full-time course taught by experienced industry professionals which focuses on areas such as print, typography, editorial design, digital artwork, professional practice, advertising and marketing. The course allows participating students to develop their creative and technical knowledge of Graphic Design through exciting live, competitions and client led briefs and work placements, in preparation for a career within this fast-paced industry.
