Hairdressing students from Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group (NSCG), showcased their skills helping celebrity fashion stylist Gok Wan, as his One Size Fits All Tour hits Stoke-on-Trent.
12 talented hairdressers from Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group's Academy of Hairdressing & Beauty Therapy supported the TV personalities show, creating a number of hair styles for the show's catwalk models.
Award-winning TV presenter, author, stylist and champion of all women, Gok Wan is one of the UK’s most sought-after fashion experts making his mark by giving women the confidence to appreciate their bodies, whatever their size.
His new tour, a follow up to his successful Fashion Brunch Club, saw Gok hold a masterclass in fashion, style and insider secrets at the Moat House, on Festival Park last Saturday 21 September, culminating in two catwalk shows featuring a full range of clothing, a body shape masterclass, hair styling demonstrations and Q&A session.
Head of Professional Studies, Sue Burke said "This event was a once in a lifetime opportunity for our hairdressing students to put their skills to the test in a live brief. Gok's show has provided invaluable industry experience for our students - It doesn't get much more real than working for one of the UK's most famous fashion faces."
As well as creating looks for two catwalk shows Gok's show featured one lucky audience member receiving a full make-over, with students once again providing their services and styling the lucky audience members hair.
