Shelley went to Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) where she studied a BSc in Sport & Exercise Science before completing a MSc in Sport & Exercise Science, followed by a teaching qualification in 2004.
Shelley joined Newcastle College in 2004 as a sports lecturer which was her first ever teaching role. Shelley quickly progressed to Curriculum Leader, then to Curriculum Manager in Sport then onto Assistant Director of Vocational Studies and then to Assistant Director of Academic and Creative Studies. Shelley is now Director of Curriculum at NSCG.
As a senior manager, Shelley works closely with managers, Assistant Directors and other members of the senior management team to contribute actively and flexibly to the overall strategic management and direction of the curriculum offer for the college group. Fundamentally, it is Shelley's role to ensure that the curriculum offer across all of the departments within both campuses are in line with a range of internal and external stakeholders needs, ultimately ensuring that the offer is effective, efficient and relevant.
Shelley was born and bred in Stoke-on-Trent and still lives in the local area now.
