Course overview

After completing the Entry 3 Life Skills and Employment Training course, learners usually transition to our Foundations for Life and Work course. The curriculum is for learners with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and is aimed at learners who are in their last year of college. The curriculum focuses on transition, progression and preparation for adulthood. There is no set level for this course.

What else do I need to know?

We deliver an NCFE Work Skills Award, the nationally recognised qualification is suitable to give learners a relevant qualification that prepares learners for employment. The units we deliver are:

- Motivation for work
- Preparing and promoting yourself for a job interview
- Recruitment methods

Visits to businesses, taking part in community projects and exploring tranisition opportunities is of paramount importance for this programme.

What are the entry requirements?

You will need to have completed the Entry 3 Life Skills and Employment Training course.

What financial support is on offer?

This course is free for anyone aged 16 – 18. If you are outside this age group please contact 01782 254188.
College Maintenance Allowance (CMA): Anyone with a household income under £21,000 can receive up to £20 per week financial support to help pay for travel and meals and meet the costs of essential trips, books, stationery and equipment. The payments will be subject to full attendance on your course. A range of other financial support is available, depending on your personal circumstances.
