Newcastle Business Festival 'Shaping the Future' Essential Skills Workshops

As part of the Newcastle-under-Lyme 'Shaping the Future' Business Festival, Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group (NSCG) is pleased to offer adult learners the chance to get involved in a selection of introductory essential skills workshops.

These insightful sessions will run at Keele in Town by our dedicated adult learning team, who will be on hand to give attendees a taster of what's on offer to learners aged 19+ across the Borough.

The following workshops will be on offer during Friday 14 March:

Basic Computer and Digital Skills (9:30am - 10:30am)

Build confidence with your digital devices, whether it's a smartphone, tablet, or laptop. This beginner-friendly taster is designed to help you get started, even if you are an absolute beginner. Our supportive approach will ensure that you'll leave feeling more comfortable with your tech.

Everyday Maths (12:30pm - 1.30pn)

Learn how to spot the best buys and understand if deals of the day truly save you money. This practical session will help you to develop the maths skills needed to navigate marketing tactics in supermarkets, shops, and online market places empowering you to make smarter financial decisions.

Introduction to Becoming a Teaching Assistant (2pm - 3pm)

Perfect for anyone considering a career in education, explore the rewarding role of a teaching assistant in this interactive session. Learn how to support teachers in primary schools and help young children to develop their numeracy and literacy skills through engaging and inclusive learning activities.
