Institute of Technology

Open to learners, September 2025.

We're bringing a sector leading Institute of Technology (IoT) to Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.

We are proud to lead the development of the £22.5M Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Institute of Technology (SoTSIoT), working alongside education partners Keele University, Burton & South Derbyshire College, Stoke-on-Trent College, South Staffordshire College and training provider Axia Solutions, as well as key employer partners including Dell, Hitachi, Moog, Indurent and Siemens. This transformative initiative will bring together industry, education and research to jointly design and develop education and training opportunities aligned to the skills needed by employers, the local, regional and national economy and Government priorities for technical education.

Utilising a hub and spoke approach, the SoTSIoT will serve the communities of Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent from a number of key locations and will see employers and academia working collaboratively to widen participation in targeted STEM areas, with a focus on manufacturing and engineering across a wide range of specialisms, including the built environment, health sciences, sustainability and digital technology/innovation. In Stafford, the new three storey, 8,000 square ft. building, is set to welcome learners in September 2025 and will be packed full of industry equipment and facilities including a VR/AR immersive space, a mock hospital ward, testing laboratories, robotics and automation equipment, an advanced manufacturing learning factory and much more.
