Newcastle College Celebrates Students with October 'Student of the Month' Awards
Each month Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group hold a ‘Student of the Month’ awards presentation at that highlights and recognises the individual effort, progress and dedication of students who go above and beyond throughout the year.
Highlighting and recognising the individual efforts, progress and dedication of students, the presentations included a number of inspirational stories from staff about their nominees who have gone above and beyond on their chosen course area. We were pleased to welcome Aaron Bell MP as our special guest for this month's awards.
Emma Gallimore
Nominated to receive the Award for the Faculty of Academic and Creative Studies, Emma has been doing fantastic work with the Students’ Union, along with other external engagement work, whilst at the same time working hard on her studies. Emma has been chosen, from hundreds of applications nationally submitted, to be one of 13 participants making up the AoC FE Youth Collective. Emma has also recently been named as the Biology Student of the Month, as she always fully involves herself in every lesson, participating fully in class discussions and always giving 100% effort. She is incredibly conscientious and hard-working, diligently balancing the demands of her course with her extra-curricular activities.

Harry was nominated to receive the Award for the Faculty of Professional Studies, as he has wholeheartedly embraced his new ESports programme having realised that his previous Business pathway was not the right one for him. Harry has a new-found dedication for his studies that has been noted by his tutors, specifically his maturity in class and the support he gives to those around him, constantly offering help and guidance to his peers. Harry has volunteered as Student Rep for the group, taking many new students under his wing and helping them feel welcome during their first term. With a definite career path in mind, one within the legal industry associated with Esports, Harry has a bright future ahead of him.
