NSCG hosts Opening Event of the Newcastle Business Festival

Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group (NSCG) will be hosting the opening celebrations of Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council’s first ‘Shaping the Future’ Business Festival which takes place from 10- 14 March.
Throwing open the doors of its Knutton Lane campus for day one of the festival, NSCG Newcastle College is delighted to be kickstarting a week-long celebration of business support, innovation and entrepreneurship across Newcastle-under-Lyme.
Bringing together the local business community and professionals from across the region to network and share insights, day one of the festival hosted by Hannah Ault, Managing Director from Valentine Clays is set to welcome keynote speaker, ceramicist and broadcaster Keith Brymer Jones who will share his experiences of his career in the creative arts sector alongside guest speaker Chris Daniels, Founder and Managing Director of CyberKiln.
During day one of the festival, a number of NSCG’s lecturers will be facilitating career-focused workshops, sharing their expertise and industry knowledge with festival attendees. Sessions available include ‘Marketing and Design‘, ‘An Introduction into the World of Bookkeeping’ and ‘An Introduction to Payroll’ - all showcasing the skills needed for a successful career in these sectors.
Committed to providing outstanding learning opportunities for adult learners and the local business community, NSCG offers an extensive programme of part-time courses across a broad spectrum of subject areas and careers. Showcasing just a small selection of what’s on offer, Day 5 of the festival will see NSCG hosting a series of essential skills workshops highlighting the progression opportunities on offer to learners across its on-campus and town centres locations. Sessions on offer at the brand new Keele in Town Building on the Ironmarket will include; Basic Computer and Digital Skills, Everyday Maths and an Introduction to Becoming a Teaching Assistant.
Commenting on NSCG’s involvement in the Newcastle Business Festival, Jane Tunnicliff, Director of Apprenticeships and Newcastle-under-Lyme BID Co Chair says: “NSCG is proud to be involved in the first ever Newcastle Business Festival that will bring together the community and local businesses to explore opportunities from further training to setting up in business. We have incredible guest speakers lined up and which are bound to inspire, so there really is something for everyone and we’re excited to be welcoming everyone onto our Newcastle Campus.”
