Students dazzle at end-of-year showcase

Level 3 Hairdressing, Beauty and Media Make-up learners from NSCG showed off their talents and technical skills at the annual end-of-year showcase event this week.

From red carpet glamour to horror, fantasy and iconic looks inspired by Hollywood blockbusters, our learners pulled out all the stops to create a memorable runway show as they demonstrated their hair and make-up skills at the Showcase of Success.

Learners from both Newcastle College and Stafford College's Academy of Hairdressing and Beauty came together on Tuesday 24 May to demonstrate their creativity and technical skills at the dazzling event.

Friends, family and employer partners were invited along to NSCG Newcastle College to celebrate an incredible year within the department.

Lorraine Drayton, Curriculum Manager for Hairdressing, Beauty and Media Makeup at NSCG said: “A huge thank you to all our students, staff and employer partners for their efforts over the last year and for making this evening so special for everyone involved. A lot of preparation went into it and the students evidently enjoyed the whole process right through to the event, gaining a lot from it.

“This Showcase of Success is always a fantastic way to showcase some of the very best skills our students have developed during their studies and everyone worked incredibly hard to ensure the event was a success.

“We are so fortunate to be able to offer our students a range of professional and enrichment opportunities and are thankful to work with fabulous brands including Wella and Dermalogica,” continued Lorraine.

“Both Newcastle and Stafford campuses offer learners the opportunity to study and develop their skills, learn from our industry trained-staff in our commercial salons and take this knowledge away into their careers and into the industry they’ll eventually work in.”
