Course overview

Care and maintenance of plant and machinery are critical to safe operations and productive output on-site. Just knowing how to operate equipment isn’t enough, so learning the fundamentals of maintenance and how to identify problems with plant equipment and machinery is the construction sector essential. This part-time qualification enables adult learners to demonstrate and recognise skills, knowledge, understanding, and competence in a real workplace environment and provides a nationally recognised qualification for those working in the constructions and built environment sector in plant or machinery maintenance.

The aim of this qualification is to recognise the knowledge, skills and competence demonstrated by an individual in the workplace. This Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Construction Plant or Machinery Maintenance (Construction) provides the opportunity for individuals who specialise in plant or machinery maintenance to demonstrate their competence. The units in this qualification are derived from National Occupational Standards.

This Level 2 qualification contains a range of units which allows learners to develop their practical competence across a range of different areas to cover the diverse nature of equipment within the construction plant and machinery maintenance industry.

On completion, technicians will be able to demonstrate that they have the practical competence required to work in the construction plant or machinery maintenance industry.

Typically candidates are employed within the Construction Plant sector.

The qualification is assessed through a portfolio of work-based evidence and Assessor observations in the work place.

For further information, please call Mark Godridge on 01785 275450.
