Tailored for aspiring chefs and culinary enthusiasts, you'll delve into various aspects of food service and preparation while honing your customer service abilities to ensure exceptional guest experiences.

The course is for you if you looking to obtain a role within the Catering industry or simply improve your cooking skills. The qualification Level 1 Creative Crafts (Cookery) will help you get your first job in the sector and explore the different roles. You will learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment in this sector, covering area of food service and cooking for example.

While on the course, you will:

  • Further develop your Customer service
  • Learn how to Serve food and drink
  • Explore and develop healthy eating practice
  • Use a wide variety of industry standard kitchen equipment
  • Discover food preparation and techniques used by the professionals
  • Explore and enhance your existing cookery skills

There are no formal entry requirements for candidates undertaking these qualifications

You will build a portfolio of work and photos to evidence your practical cookery

Once you have completed the course, we offer several options to help improve your chances of gaining employment in the catering industry. These include:

  • Level 2 Food Safety in Catering qualification
  • Support to help you apply and enrol on an apprenticeship with a local company
