Start your journey in education and make a real difference in the classroom by studying this nationally recognised Level 2 qualification. Designed to help you to gain the skills employers are looking for, this course will give you the foundations to develop as a professional to work with children or young people in a school or college setting.

The course consists of several mandatory units. Example units covered including:

- Safeguarding the welfare of children and young people
- Communication and professional relationships with children, young people and adults
- Equality, diversity and inclusion in work with children and young people
- Personal development
- National curriculum
- Reflective practice
- Health & Safety
- Supporting Learning
Learners will also undertake maths and English functional skills alongside this programme which will support progression on to the Level 3 Diploma.
Applicants should gain a minimum of Level 1 in maths and English initial assessments. A good working knowledge of ICT is also required. In addition applicants must have had some experience as a teaching assistant in a school setting and have at least 6 hours per week guaranteed before the course starts - paid or voluntary.
