The mandatory units are generic but you will specialise in your preferred skill embarking on practical projects and having the experience and opportunity to develop your skills and talents relevant to the industry. For instance, working on a number of performances based around scripted plays, song writing, dance, solo and ensemble music performances, composition, sound, lighting, special effects, or even stage management.
As part of your study programme here at the College alongside your chosen course you will complete a maths and/or English qualification if you have not already achieved a grade 4-9 or above. (This will be a GCSE for all students with a grade 3).
The study programme will also incorporate a range of work related experience activities to ensure that you have the breadth of skills required to progress to further/higher education, employment or an apprenticeship and will also be enriched by attending extra activities alongside level 3 students to prepare you for your transition onto the higher level course.
Experience in acting is necessary along with some performance ability, typically in acting, dancing and/or musical theatre. Your level of ability will be assessed in an informal one to one audition with the course leader.

College Maintenance Allowance (CMA): Anyone with a household income under £26,000 can receive up to £20 per week financial support to help pay for travel and meals and meet the costs of essential trips, books, stationery and equipment.
