Would you like to be more in control of your household budget or understand how to get the best deals on your utility bills? This short numeracy course for adult learners will help you to get the most of your income and become more confident with numbers for everyday life.
The informal Maths for Life and Budgeting course is a friendly and supportive way to explore how maths is used in everyday life and it's important role in helping with household and personal budgeting.
Our tutors will help you to develop a stronger understanding of number skills while exploring how to manage your own budget. Gaining this number confidence will help you to get the most out of your income and ensure you are getting those best deals to help you save.
Course content includes:
- Understanding food shop discounts and best buys
- Budget Planning
- Understanding household and utility bills
- Understanding your payslip
- Where to gain help and advice
*The daytime course will run from our Newcastle-under-Lyme town centre venue, Keele In Town at 53 Ironmarket, ST5 1PE.
There are no entry requirements, however you will need to be 19+ and reside in Staffordshire.
There are no formal assessments, but we will track your progress. To help us get a better understanding of your maths needs, you will complete an initial assessment at the start of the course.

Once you have completed the course, you will have the option of progressing to a higher level maths qualification or be able to access further learning to support your needs.
This course is FREE to adult learners who pay their council tax to Staffordshire County Council and reside in Staffordshire.
