Course overview
Develop or kickstart your career in engineering designed to give you the skills and confidence to study a university-level qualification in the near future.
To gain the Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing you need to pass 3 units of study. Three of these are Mandatory Units taken by all students, while the remaining 3 are selected to give a balance of mechanical/electrical units.
You need a minimum of 4 GCSE passes (or equivalent) at grade 4 or higher in appropriate subjects, including Mathematics, English and Science; or a BTEC Level 3 in Engineering; or other qualifications of similar status and relevance. Life skills will also be considered.
You need to gain at least a Pass grade in each unit (Merit and Distinction grades being awarded for higher attainment) and are continuously assessed during the course through assignments, written papers and homework, though the precise form of assessment varies somewhat according to the unit. Evidence for learning outcomes may be achieved via assignments, presentations, practical activities and projects. Where available, evidence form the workplace can also be incorporated to enhance the learning outcomes provided that this is appropriate and authenticated as the learner’s own work.
