This course is ideal for those wishing to begin a career in hairdressing. It is offered on a part-time basis subject to age, experience and motivation, and includes training in the following: working in the hair industry, health & safety, shampooing and conditioning, styling hair and cutting OR colouring.

Applicants will need to demonstrate a keen interest in hairdressing and enjoy working as part of a team. This course is open to any individual wishing to progress their career in hairdressing.

You are continually assessed throughout the course working on clients and there will be some online tests to cover the theory aspects of the course.

What else do I need to know?

The course runs for 30 weeks in total. In college hours will be seven hours per week over a Tuesday afternoon and evening.

On completion of the course, you will gain a City & Guilds VRQ Level 2 Certificate in Hair Techniques qualification. Please note, that you will be required to buy a hairdressing kit. There may be additional costs for books, materials or other expenses.

Courses run subject to minimum viable class sizes.
