Learn about person-centred approaches, assessment techniques and care plan development. Enhance your skills and knowledge to make a positive impact in the field of healthcare and social care. Join us on a journey towards becoming a competent and compassionate care professional.

Care planning is about addressing an individual's full range of needs whilst accounting for their circumstances and preferences. This qualification will help you to understand your role in supporting the needs of individuals and the development and implementation of care plans. Topics will include:

  • Understanding person centered thinking and planning
  • Care planning for the care worker
  • Understanding nutrition and hydration
  • Principles of supporting with personal hygiene
  • Reporting on care activities that you are responsible for

Be working or volunteering in a health and social care environment or other relevant working environment; have a basic level of English in order to complete the written assessments.

This is an online learning course and will require the learner to commit to self study hours in order to complete the assessments.

There are further Level 2 certificates that you may progress to, which include: mental health problems, dementia care, and infection control, end of life, autism, learning disabilities, equality and diversity, nutrition. Also you may progress to a Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Adult Health and Social Care or progress on to an apprenticeship within the sector.
