Course overview


Would you like to become more confident with numbers to help your children with their maths homework? This supportive course is a series of friendly and informal sessions designed to develop your own numeracy skills and understanding, which will help you to become more confident with supporting your child on their learning journey up to KS2. 


This short course will enable to you become more confident with numbers and support your children with the guidance and knowledge of our expert teachers. 

During this informal course, you learn alongside like-minded adults to develop and build on the following numeracy skills:

  • Confidence in subtraction, multiplication and dividing whole numbers
  • Solving problems with and without a calculator
  • Be able to work with whole numbers, fractions, percentages and decimals
  • Extract, collect, record and present information to children
  • Develop measurement and estimation skills and be able to compare length, weight and capacity
  • Learn about shape, positional vocabulary and space

On full completion of the course each learner will receive a £25 Amazon or supermarket voucher plus a free take-home resource pack.

There are no entry requirements, however you will need to be 19+ and reside in Staffordshire.

There are no formal assessments, but we will track your progress. To help us get a better understanding of your maths needs you will complete an initial assessment at the start of the course.

This course is FREE to adults aged 19+ who reside in Staffordshire.

This course has been funded by the Government's Multiply Project and is aimed at Staffordshire residents aged 19+. Please note that courses run subject to minimum viable class sizes.
