Prepare for a rewarding career as a midwife. 

Gain comprehensive knowledge of the healthcare sector and its specific regulations and standards, with a focus on supporting maternity care providers. Deepen your understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and reproductive health, learning to provide compassionate, person-centered care to expectant mothers and their newborns. Develop practical skills for managing information and collaborating effectively with healthcare teams, ensuring the safety and well-being of mothers and babies during childbirth.

This course will enable you to gain the skills and knowledge that will give you access to numerous opportunities in the health professions sector.

Designed by employers, T-Levels combine practical and theoretical learning experiences, with real-life industry experience. A T-Level pathway can also support progression on to university, into employment or on to a higher/degree apprenticeship.

The course combines classroom based theory with an extensive work placement element that will support you to make well informed choices about your future career aspirations.

You will learn how to undertake a variety of clinical tasks including physiological measurements and how to interpret the results. You will practice these skills working alongside professionals on your work placement.

You'll need a minimum of five GCSEs at grade 5 or above, including maths and English Language, in subjects that are relevant to the course you'd like to study. In addition to this, you'll also need a grade 5 or above in Science.

You will be assessed through written and practical examinations, employer projects, group work, presentations and analysis.

You will also be observed in the workplace to prepare you for practical assessments that will take place in college.

On completion of the T-Level you may wish to pursue employment opportunities, such as an ambulance assistant, health care or senior health care assistant and the extensive placement element will provide you with valuable experience that will be attractive to many potential employers. You may decide to apply for higher education and qualify as a nurse, midwife, operating theatre practitioner or radiographer.

College Maintenance Allowance (CMA): Anyone with a household income under £26,000 can receive up to £20 per week financial support to help pay for travel and meals and meet the costs of essential trips, books, stationery and equipment.
