Running from 3rd – 8th March, National Careers Week is a nationwide initiative designed to inspire and support young people as they explore future career pathways. The College’s expert T Level staff will also be joining the roadshow to share first-hand industry knowledge, discuss the skills most in demand, and offer advice on career opportunities in today’s job market.

Students will have the chance to take part in quizzes, competitions, and Q&A sessions, helping them engage with career planning in a fun and informative way.

NSCG will also celebrate the week by showcasing the success stories of its alumni, highlighting their career journeys and the paths they have taken since graduating.

Harry Chevins, who attended NSCG Newcastle College in 2015, studied BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business followed by a Level 4 Higher National Certificate qualification, and a Business Administration Apprenticeship. He has since gone on to set up his own national freight forwarding business with his brother, Transport 29 Ltd.

Speaking about his time at the College, Harry said: “My college experience definitely played a massive part in who I’ve become as an adult, the environment at NULC (as it was then) was welcoming, I was treated like an adult and I was incredibly happy with the level of education I received. I’m immensely grateful to the experienced lecturers, and their teaching styles and methods. But one of the most important things was the connections and friendships I built there too.”
