Newcastle College launches annual Toy Appeal to support local children this Christmas
Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group (NSCG) has proudly launched its annual Toy Appeal in support of The Alice Charity, working to ensure that every local child wakes up to a special gift on Christmas morning.
The Alice Charity provides vital support to vulnerable and disadvantaged families across Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme. For over 10 years, Early Years Tutor at Newcastle College, Jayne Dale, has been at the forefront of the College’s Toy Appeal campaign.
She said: “Christmas is all about giving and showing kindness, and every year I am blown away by the generosity of those donating to the toy appeal. It makes such a difference to the charity and the families that they support.
“We know that everyone feels the pinch at this time of year so to see so many people go above and beyond is truly inspiring.”
Each year, hundreds of gifts are donated through the College’s collection scheme, with items ranging from Barbie dolls and toy cars to toiletries and perfume.
Donations from the public are gratefully received. The charity is seeking brand-new gifts suitable for children of all ages, from newborn to 18 years old. This year, there is a particular push for additional gifts suited to teenagers.
Please take any donations to the Reception at Newcastle College by 4pm on Thursday 12th December, ensuring the gift is unwrapped.
