Ahead of the event, NSCG welcomed a student social media team from InCap in Estonia, who visited the College to film promotional content for the tournament’s social media channels. The visit gave students the opportunity to collaborate internationally and provided additional insight into the wider media and marketing elements of the esports industry.

The event itself brought together 31 teams from the semi-professional and professional esports scene, with matches streamed live to an international audience via YouTube and Twitch.

Students from Level 2 and Level 3 programmes played a vital role in the live production, taking on responsibilities including observing, administration and broadcast support. Ahead of the event, they also took part in technical preparation sessions with industry professionals to ensure they were fully equipped for the fast-paced demands of live esports broadcasting.

Running from 10am to 10pm, the tournament featured 23 matches, with 17 broadcast live across the day. The stream also featured established esports casters and was overseen by the current director of Apex Legends professional tournaments, giving students invaluable exposure to professional industry standards

Throughout the event, students were praised for their professionalism, adaptability and technical ability, successfully helping to deliver more than six hours of live broadcast content.

Students involved in the event included those working across broadcast observation, event administration and casting roles, with NSCG Esports students collaborating directly with professionals from broadcast partner Blk Mkt.

The opportunity forms part of NSCG’s commitment to providing students with meaningful employer-led experiences that develop industry-ready skills and prepare them for future careers in the growing esports and digital media sectors.
