NSCG’s National Careers Week Roadshow Returns
02 March 2026
Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group (NSCG) is once again hitting the road in a 42-foot American school bus to celebrate National Careers Week 2026, taking careers inspiration directly to schools across Staffordshire.
National Careers Week is a nationwide celebration of careers guidance and free educational resources across the UK. Taking place at a key point in the academic calendar, the week shines a spotlight on career development activities designed to inspire and inform young people, helping them build awareness, confidence and excitement about their future pathways.
Throughout the week, NSCG’s Schools Liaison Team, alongside curriculum staff, will visit schools across Staffordshire, Cheshire and Shropshire, delivering engaging and interactive careers activities to students. From quizzes and competitions to Q&A sessions and skills-based challenges, the initiative is designed to make career planning both accessible and enjoyable.
In addition to the roadshow, NSCG will be celebrating National Careers Week by showcasing the success stories of its alumni, highlighting the diverse journeys students have taken since graduating.
Maisie Beech, who studied A Levels at Newcastle College, achieving outstanding grades of A*A*A*A in 2022. After demonstrating remarkable focus and resilience in securing her place at medical school, despite initially being rejected, Maisie is now a third-year medical student at The University of Manchester, working towards her next career goal of becoming a junior doctor.
Speaking about her journey, Maisie said: “My biggest piece of advice to those starting on their career journey would be that there are different paths to the same destination. Don’t get disheartened if things do not go as you initially planned in your head. If you're willing to put in the hard work, things will eventually slot into place. Everyone is on their own path, so try not to compare yourself to those around you.”
