Storm Goretti Arrangements

Due to the amber weather forecast linked to the incoming Storm Goretti, we are making the following changes to campus operations for the remainder of the week, to prioritise the safety of staff and students.
Thursday 8 January
All campuses and the Gordon Banks Sports Centre will close at 5.00pm today to allow staff and students time to travel home safely before the worst of the weather is expected to arrive.
- Please support the Estates team by leaving promptly after final lessons and vacating all buildings by 5.00pm at the latest.
- For those commuting by train, we have had reports of expected disruption to some train services from 3pm onwards so any staff or students that need to leave to access public transport should do so as soon as possible.
- Adult classes and welcome events scheduled for this evening have been cancelled.
Friday 9 January
We are planning for exams and end point assessments to go ahead as scheduled, subject to ongoing weather conditions:
All other teaching and learning will be delivered remotely. Students should check their emails from tutors for individual arrangements.
In addition:
- Stafford, Newcastle, and Leek campuses will be open for vulnerable learners who wish to attend, and will close promptly after exams have finished.
- Limited catering provision will be available at the Newcastle and Stafford campus.
- The IoT building will be closed completely.
Please note that college transport to and from the Leek campus will NOT be running.
We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will provide further updates if arrangements need to change.
