It’s never too late to study a Higher Education course with NSCG! Meet Hannah, who studied the HND in Digital Content Creation with us and bagged one of HE Student of the Year Awards.

Hannah originally worked as a landlady and in telesales, before becoming a full-time mum to her three daughters. Since then, Hannah has gone on to graduate from her HNC and HND in Digital Content Creation with the highest grade possible, achieving a Distinction in every unit.

Hannah’s journey began in 2019, when she first started the HNC in Digital Content Creation to develop her creative skills and expand her employment opportunities. However, with the COVID-19 pandemic and her daughter’s home-schooling, she was not able to complete the first academic year.

After many discussions, Hannah returned in September 2020 and since then went on to show exceptional dedication and work ethic to her studies. During her time at NSCG, Hannah has consistently developed high standards for creative outcomes, taking on work with external clients and building relationships with them that she can build upon when she starts her career.

Her confidence has grown massively throughout the course, where she has shown outstanding commitment to learning, and developing her technical ability. Graduating with a Distinction, Hannah has decided to top-up her qualification to a full degree by continuing her study at Burton and South Derbyshire College on the Creative Arts Practice course this September.

As for the future, Hannah has also decided to study a PGCE to help and motivate others to achieve in their education. To prepare, she has been providing classroom support for Level 2 Art and Design students, as well as mentoring Level 4 students in Digital Content Creation.

Alongside her top-up degree year, Hannah has also managed to gain part-time employment at NSCG Stafford, where she’ll be working as a Teaching and Learning Assistant, further showing her dedication to go above and beyond.

Hannah is one of winners of the Higher Education Student of the Year Award, an incredible achievement for her dedication and passion towards her studies. Roberto Agostinelli, Curriculum Leader for Photography and HE Digital Content noted in her nomination,

“Hannah has been an exceptional student. Kind-hearted, focused, and without doubt one of the most committed and driven people that we have worked with, someone who as a staff team we are certain will go on to achieve her goals for the future. We have very much enjoyed working with her during the past 3 years and wish her all the very best for the future.”
