Course overview
Develop the expertise to excel in the field of accounting with our AAT diploma program. This qualification covers complex accounting and finance topics and tasks leading to students becoming confident with a wide range of financial management skills and applications. Students will gain competencies in drafting financial statements for limited companies, recommending accounting systems strategies and constructing and presenting complex management accounting reports.
This course is ideal if you wish to develop knowledge and practical experience of the principles of accounting for limited companies.
From September 2026 we will be following the new qualification specification which includes:
- Financial Accounting
- Management Accounting
- Audit and Internal Controls
- Principles of Taxation
- Advanced Business Awareness
You will learn through experiencing a varied program which includes solving simulated problems, lectures, group work, discussions and attempting past exam papers. You will also be required to study away from weekly lectures to ensure exam success.
The normal route to the Level 4 Diploma is successful completion of the Level 3 Diploma resulting in a minimum of a merit grade. Applicants who have not recently completed the AAT Level 3 course with us must complete an entry assessment to demonstrate competency

You can apply to AAT for full member status. If you choose to continue to higher level accountancy qualifications the AAT qualification will provide you with certain exemption (please contact the individual organisation directly for further details).
You can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan or Higher Education Loan to help with the costs of your course if you are 19 or older and the course you are studying is an eligible Level 3, 4, 5 or 6 course. Please note this course requires compulsory purchase of level 4 Registration directly from AAT by you (approximate cost £260) this is not covered by the college.
