Advance your engineering skills with our Level 2 Diploma in Engineering Operations. Dive deeper into mechanical, electrical and structural engineering principles. Whether you aspire to work in manufacturing, construction, or technology, this diploma provides the foundation for excellence in practical engineering.
The course consists of 7 units. You will gain practical skills in hand-fitting, welding, turning and milling and an excellent knowledge of theory to support these practical skills. You will also gain an excellent knowledge in modern Engineering practices (such as design and machine programming). Alongside your course, you will study English if not already achieved at grade 4.
You will also need to complete 3 days mandatory work experience.
As a condition of being offered a place on this course, you would be expected to meet the following entry requirements:
1. Submit a school report showing your attendance, behaviour and effort details
2. Attend the Department Experience Day
3. Complete a summer assignment which would be set on Experience Day
4. You will need to achieve/have achieved GCSEs at grade 4 or above in Maths and a grade 3 or above in English Language.

You can move up to our T-Level in Engineering course or a related course. Alternatively, you may wish to seek an advanced level apprenticeship or full time employment in the engineering operations industry as a civil engineering technician, quality control engineer or process engineer.
This course is free for anyone aged 16 – 18.
College Maintenance Allowance (CMA): Anyone with a gross household income under £30,000 can receive financial support to cover college related costs such as transport, meals, course equipment and uniform. Bursary support is based on individual circumstances and will be allocated to best suit your individual needs.
