Course overview

This diploma equips learners with advanced knowledge, skills, and competencies necessary to provide high-quality care and support to adults in various settings, including residential care homes, domiciliary care, and community support services.

This Level 4 qualification is specifically for those working with adults in a health and social care setting. It is particularly relevant for senior care/support staff, front line managers, assistant/deputy managers, team leaders, area domiciliary care managers and senior day care workers. You will have the option to specialise in Adults' Residential Care or Adult Care.

The course ensures that carers with existing employment in adult care can enhance their current skill set and deliver a higher quality of care.

The course consists of mandatory units and a selection of optional units that will be matched to your job role.

  • Policies and Procedures for the Sector
  • Role of a Care Worker
  • Adult Safeguarding 
  • Duty of Care
  • Handling of Information

A Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care would be an advantage. A good level of English and maths which will be assessed at the information, advice and guidance session. Also to be in a work role to support the level of the qualification.

Assessment is through observation of performance in the workplace, knowledge and understanding you show through written/oral questioning and assignments and an e-portfolio of supporting evidence is also collated.

Complete an on-line application form to be invited in for an interview

Progression with career and specialist qualifications in health and social care. Further progression on to higher education for the health and social care sector. Options will be discussed with you by your assessor/tutor.

You can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan or Higher Education Loan to help with the costs of your course if you are 19 or older and the course you are studying is an eligible Level 3, 4, 5 or 6 course.

A DBS is require to enrol on this course.

Learners will need to be in employment for 15 hours a week minimum.

Learners will have an interview which will enable us to discuss your individual learner needs, course content and career prospects. Please note there may be additional costs for books, materials or other expenses.
