Delve into the world of support networks and an organisations cyber security with this T Level pathway.
This course will help you to develop the understanding and practical skills to become future Digital Infrastructure Engineers, Network Cable Installers, Digital Support Technicians and Cyber Security Personnel supports today businesses. Navigate the ethical considerations surrounding data usage in software design and problem-solving contexts. You will consider the ethical and moral issues raised by an increasing reliance on technology and how it affects society and culture.
You will gain fundamental Computer Science knowledge and skills within the first year of the programme. Specific topics include the following key topics and their application to business contexts:
- Infrastructure and Networking
- Data Management and Analysis
- Security and Programming Concepts using Python
Applying and accepting the offer on this course will require a commitment to undertake an industry placement. NSCG work closely with a range of companies within the digital industry who are committed to providing an industry placement. Students will be offered a placement following a successful interview with an employer.
You'll need a minimum of five GCSEs at grade 5 or above, including maths and English Language, in subjects that are relevant to the course you’d like to study. You'll also ideally need GCSE grade 5 or above in Computer Science and/or IT.
You will be assessed by 2 externally set written exams, an employer set task in year 1. In year 2 you will have an externally assessed project that covers the occupational specialism (work that you have undertaken in the digital industry). This will be achieved by completing a range of different assignments, including coursework.

It will be possible from this course progress to a university based programme such as Computer Science, Software engineering or Cyber Security. You can choose to study for a HE qualification here at NSCG through the HND in Applied Computing, or to enter employment, possibly through an Apprenticeship.
This course is free for anyone aged 16 – 18.
College Maintenance Allowance (CMA): Anyone with a gross household income under £35,000 can receive financial support to cover college related costs such as transport, meals, course equipment and uniform. Bursary support is based on individual circumstances and will be allocated to best suit your individual needs.
