Course overview
Delve into the world of Pneumatics and Automation with this fully-funded short course for adult learners. Develop your engineering skills using Festo pneumatic training rigs and Festo Fluid SIM software to gain the foundations to learn about compresed air, associated forces, pneumatic logic and fault finding.
The Introduction to Pneumatics & Automation Course aims to support learners who have an interest in this subject and wish to pursue a career in engineering and robotics.
The course is also applicable to learners who have had a break in their education and who need to recap prior knowledge/develop study skills before embarking on a higher education course
Learners may have completed a previous Engineering qualification and wish to progress onto higher-level qualifications, or to gain insight into the world of Industrial Robotics prior to making crucial career decisions. This course is also applicable to learners who have had a break in their education and who need to recap prior knowledge/develop study skills before embarking on a higher education course.
For entry onto this qualification learners must have a keen interest in Pneumatics (Automation). It would be beneficial to have an understanding of Industrial Robotics/Electrical engineering, but not essential.
This is part one of the Introduction to Robotics & Automation series. Part 2 will start in the Spring 2026.
This course will support upskilling within your current role, which can then be used to progress into more senior/complex job roles or to support a career change into automation/industrial robotics sectors.
This course will support learners gaining employment in the industry of Advanced Manufacturing or to progress onto further study/higher education.
This course is FREE to adult learners aged 19+ already working in this sector.
