Celebrating T Level Success at NSCG
20 October 2026
As T Level week continues to shine a light on the benefits of work-based learning, NSCG is looking back over recent student success, and the careers our T Level programmes are helping to kickstart.
T Levels balance career-focused study with a substantial work placement of 315 hours so students have regular opportunities to put their classroom learning into practice.
Mia Howard, who completed a T Level in Legal Services in June 2026, consistently went above and beyond, and has flourished academically, personally and professionally. Mia was nominated for an incredible two University of Staffordshire Business Awards, both as Young Business Person of the Year and Apprentice of the Year.
Over the course of her T Level placement, she gained invaluable industry experience with Recruitment Robin, and the successful completion of her T Level allowed her to progress to Aston University to study Law LLB. Amongst all of that, she used the professional skills she learnt on her placement, to successfully launch and grow her own nail tech business, showcasing her entrepreneurial spirit.
As UCAS-recognised programmes with curriculums designed in conjunction with employers, they’re a fantastic next step whether you’re excited to jump into work or progress to university-level study.
Management and Administration T Level alumnus Will Beardmore went above and beyond during his time with NSCG, completing an incredible 400 hours of work placement with University Hospitals of North Midlands (UHNM). Adaptable and inquisitive, Will took inspiration from guest speaker Aysha Kent, UHNM Future Workforce Manager, choosing to seek placement in the Trauma Care Directorate. Here he gained valuable exposure to various areas, even being able to support junior doctor recruitment and observe a surgical procedure.
The additional 85 hours of workplace experience along with his dedication, passion and commitment helped him to secure a highly competitive Business Management Degree Apprenticeship with Rolls-Royce. His maturity and drive continue to make an impression as he has since been welcomed back to NSCG to inspire current students, using his own journey to help them navigate theirs.
Alongside Legal Services and Management and Administration, T Levels are available in a range of subjects including Digital, Construction & Engineering, Education & Early Years, Healthcare and Marketing, giving school leavers lots of potential pathways into exciting careers.
NSCG alumnus Mohammed Mahmood made the journey from Sudan to the UK at just 16 with limited English, completed all of his qualifications while living independently and providing financial support for his family in Libya. Recognising that education was the key to a better future, Mo worked hard to achieve a variety of qualifications including English, Maths, Security Management and Engineering, before moving onto the Level 3 T Level in Building Services in Engineering for Construction.
Mo chose to complete industry placements with two companies, Sodexo and 24-7 Group, during his programme, giving him a more varied understanding of different workplaces. Consistently dedicated to his education and personal development, a particularly successful placement at the 24-7 Group even led to him securing an apprenticeship at the company, where he is now working as a Trainee Services Engineer and completing the final year of his Level 4 Higher National Certificate (HNC).
