College Group is a 'Cut Above'
The Academy of Hair and Beauty at both the Newcastle and Stafford College sites have been awarded a Wella Centre of Excellence accreditation.
Highlighting the links between industry and education, this prestigious title is awarded on a yearly basis at the discretion of world renowned haircare brand Wella to just a select number of colleges.
NSCG now forms part of an elite group of educational establishments in the UK and Ireland that is constantly achieving high standards worthy of this award.
To recognise this fantastic achievement, representatives from Wella attended both Stafford and Newcastle College to present the Academies of Hair and Beauty with commemorative plaques.
Coordinator for Hair, Beauty and Media Make-up, Lynne Maguire, said: “Here at NSCG we are absolutely thrilled that our full-time hairdressing department has been awarded the Centre of Excellence from Wella.
“We have only been a Wella partner for around 12 months after we moved to them to ensure our students and clients have access to the best quality products and training available.
“To be recognised already for our high standards in delivering education is a testament to our amazing teams at both Stafford and Newcastle.”
As a Wella Centre of Excellence, students at NSCG will have access to a range of professional products and additional opportunities which will enhance their training and better prepare them for a career in the hairdressing industry.
Lorraine Drayton, Curriculum Manager for Hair and Beauty, added: “The benefits to being part of an elite group of training establishments will mean we are able to share these products and opportunities with our students to ensure they get the best start.”
