Learners from Hairdressing, Beauty and Media Makeup courses joined forces to create an evening full of glitz, glamour and unwavering support from friends, family and NSCG tutors.

One Media Makeup Student told us,"It was hard work and stressful, but I’m so glad I did it. Seeing my model go down the catwalk gave me the confidence to know this is definitely what I want to do in the future."

From ethereal fantasy and timeless beauty to looks leaning into the macabre, designs featured prosthetics, headpieces, extensive body paint and thoughtfully chosen costume and props to bring their work to life.

The event served as a live portfolio and an industry networking opportunity, building confidence in managing models, timing and developing a new level of professional confidence as well as the vital industry skills of working alongside peers, teamwork, problem-solving and adaptability under pressure.

Lorraine Drayton, Curriculum Manager for Hairdressing, Beauty and Media Makeup at NSCG, said: “This year’s End of Year show was a real ‘Celebration of Success’.  It was a fabulous display of technical skill and a testament to the talent of our Level 3 hair and makeup students.

“The themes in this year’s show challenged students to use their creativity to produce videos, select music, create mood-boards and take part in a live production where industry professionals, local employers and their families could see the culmination of their hard work.

“While the final looks were fantastic, the true success of the showcase lies in the impact it has had on our students' professional and personal growth.

“As our students leave us and prepare to enter the industry, we are incredibly proud of them and cannot wait to see how they shape their futures.”
