Emerging Artists, Designers and Creators Take the Spotlight at NSCG
26 June 2026
Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group (NSCG) have put student creativity at the forefront this June with student exhibitions across all three sites.
Celebrating some of the most talented students in and around Staffordshire, the exhibitions showcased a diverse range of creative disciplines, highlighting graphic design, animation, media, film, game design, art & design, illustration, photography and fashion.
Before introducing the young artists’ work to the public, a private view was held at each college, giving students the opportunity to welcome friends and family on campus to celebrate their creativity.
At NSCG Newcastle College and NSCG Stafford College, the exhibitions were kickstarted by a warm welcome from Holly Davies, Director of Creative Arts, where tutors, NSCG staff, parents and students recognised the remarkable achievements of creative arts students with awards presented across various disciplines. Guests were the entertained with a stunning fashion show featuring Year 1 and 2 fashion students.
Throughout the process of curation, students were able to build their portfolios ready for public view. The work explored a variety of themes ranging from ‘The Importance of Deconstruction’ questioning the function of forms, to using personal experience to transform sign language and communication into physical art.
NSCG’s Director of Creative Arts, Holly Davies, said, “Our student exhibitions are a real celebration of creativity and hard work. They give students the chance to share their ideas with a public audience, build confidence and see their practice in a professional context. They also open the doors for our wider community to experience the talent, ambition and fresh perspectives coming through our arts programmes. We’re extremely proud of all our students and are excited to see what they go onto next.”
