NSCG apprentices shortlisted for prestigious Multicultural Apprenticeship Awards

Two talented apprentices are celebrating after being shortlisted for the 2026 Multicultural Apprenticeship Awards, recognising their achievements, dedication and positive impact within their workplaces.

The awards celebrate apprentices from diverse backgrounds who are making a difference in their organisations and industries. Yuliia Kozel and Raziya Akhtar have both been shortlisted in recognition of their commitment, professional development and the inspiration they provide to others.

Yuliia, a Business Administration Level 3 Apprentice at GE Vernova, has been shortlisted in the Management, Legal & Professional Services category. Since starting her apprenticeship, she has quickly made a strong impression through her professionalism, curiosity and willingness to embrace new challenges.

Working across multiple departments, Yuliia has developed an impressive understanding of business systems and processes, supporting customer requirements and helping to improve operational efficiency. She has also shown outstanding initiative by helping to create a structured rota system for apprentices, enabling colleagues to gain valuable experience across different areas of the organisation.

Raziya Akhtar, an Engineering Operative Level 2 Apprentice at EA Spaces Ltd t/a ESG, has also been shortlisted following an inspiring apprenticeship journey into the engineering sector.

After exploring different career options, Raziya chose an apprenticeship route to combine her passion for design with practical engineering experience. Despite joining her programme later than her peers, she quickly caught up and achieved a Distinction in her End Point Assessment. She was also recognised as NSCG Apprentice of the Month for her dedication and contribution.

During her apprenticeship, Raziya has developed a wide range of technical skills including CNC machining, welding and joinery, while supporting multiple departments and contributing to projects for high-profile clients. As a female apprentice from an ethnic minority background, she is also helping to challenge perceptions and inspire others to consider careers in engineering.

The winners of the 2026 Multicultural Apprenticeship Awards will be announced at the official awards ceremony on Friday 6 November 2026. Everyone at NSCG is incredibly proud of Yuliia and Raziya’s achievements and wishes them the very best of luck at the ceremony.
