NSCG Holds First Provider Insight Day as West Midlands TVE Hub

On Wednesday 21st October, NSCG was delighted to hold its first provider insight day following its appointment as the West Midlands Technical and Vocational Excellence (TVE) Hub earlier in the year.
As one of only nine colleges nationally selected as a TVE Insight Hub, this was a fantastic opportunity to build relationships and share best practice as NSCG welcomed representatives from the Association of Colleges, Dudley College of Technology, Heart of Worcester College, RNN Group, Shrewsbury College, Solihull College, South Staffs College, St Edmund Campion Catholic School, Walsall College, Sandwell College and The Sheffield College.
The agenda provided an opportunity to review the current landscape, from the challenges to the opportunities, as well as providing insight on NSCG’s journey to date. Delegates also got an introduction to the Technical and Vocational Teaching and Learning platform, discussed planning for the delivery of new qualifications and highlighted the importance of employer engagement in supporting curriculum design and placements. Attendees also got to participate in an update on the region’s Advanced Manufacturing Technical Excellence College (AMTEC) from Vice Principal Georgina Barnard, along with enjoying subject specific and strategic round table discussions focused on planning and insight sharing.
To celebrate Workplace Wednesday of T Levels Week, learners joined the session to talk about their career ambitions and share their experiences of T Level placements.
The event created a fantastic opportunity to strengthen cross-provider collaboration, and NSCG is incredibly grateful to all who contributed to the inspiring, forward-thinking discussions.
NSCG is now looking forward to expanding the number of providers it works with, ultimately raising the bar for technical and vocational education across the West Midlands.
