What sport do you take part in?

Athletics and cross country.

How and when did you first get into it?

It started by representing my primary and then secondary school in cross country and athletics, but I decided to join my athletics club, Newcastle (Staffs) AC at the end of year 9.

What level are you currently competing at?

County – Staffordshire.

What is your best sporting achievement?

I placed 23rd out of over 1500 runners at Midlands cross country 2026. 

Have you competed in any competitions and what were the results? Or do you have any upcoming events?

I competed in Staffordshire schools and Staffordshire AAA  where I placed 5th, and West Midlands where I came 4th. Next I'll be competing in English schools, AoC nationals.

What are you working towards at the moment?

Performing my best at the AoC nationals, and hopefully a sub-20 5k.

What is your favourite thing about your sport?

The friends I have made and the opportunities it creates. 

Who inspires you? Do you have a sporting icon or someone in life you look up to?

Alongside being inspired by the support of my family and friends, Keeley Hodgkinson is a huge inspiration as the reigning Olympic champion at 800m, who won the gold medal at the 2024 Summer Olympics. 

What is your favourite memory from your sporting career so far?

Going to London for Nationals in 2025 with my athletics club.

What is your favourite thing about studying at NSCG?

My favourite things about studying at NSCG are the friends I’ve made, teachers I've had and opportunities to excel.  

What are you plans for life and long-term career goals after college?

I'm looking forward to studying and building a career in Physiotherapy.

How has NSCG helped you with your sport?

NSCG helped me by sorting the entry for Staffordshire schools and English schools competitions as well as, Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS) events at the University of Staffordshire including talks about sport psychology and nutrition.

What advice would you give to someone their first day at NSCG?

Talk to lots of new people!
