Why did you choose to return to education?
I love flowers and I wanted to learn a new skill, so I thought this would be a good fit for me. I thought that this could change my life and open up a new career for me.
Jackie Bailey, Level 2 Floristry
I love flowers and I wanted to learn a new skill, so I thought this would be a good fit for me. I thought that this could change my life and open up a new career for me.
I took a look on the website at what my options were and these courses suited me. It was also quite close to home so that worked perfectly for me. I really want to make beautiful arrangements for as many people as possible.
Signing up for a course has changed me in so many ways. It has helped me with my confidence and actually made me believe in myself. My friends and family love to see the enjoyment I get from arranging flowers.
Meeting new people has been brilliant. It's great to learn new skills alongside adults who also have a similar interest. We share experiences and help each other - and also have a good laugh which has made me a more confident person.
Getting to college in the first place was a massive hurdle for me. I struggle with self confidence, but this course has been life-changing. Apart from that, I feel that my tutor really helped to motivate and inspire us to flourish in our own ways.
I would really like to enrol on the Business Start-Up Course and continue to develop my skills in Floristry. I also want to set up my own business so these skills will help me to get to where I want to be.
Take every opportunity and every bit of advice from the tutors. It feels scary at first, but everyone is in the same boat so even just chat to other people in your class about their experiences and knowledge.
