Course overview

This course offers a foundational exploration of key principles and concepts that underpin the practice of counselling, providing you with a solid understanding of the field. Delve into various theoretical approaches to counselling, gaining insight into human behaviour, emotions and relationships.

The SEG Awards Level 2 Award in Counselling Concepts qualification is aimed to introduce learners to the concept and purpose of counselling, as well as the ethical considerations and skills used in a counselling situation. Learners must successfully complete three units in the qualification for a total of six credits.

Furthermore this award aims to provide you with the basic counselling skills and underpinning knowledge required to progress on to higher level Counselling qualifications. Topics will include, therapeutical models of counselling, ethical frameworks and helping relationships as well as developing effective communication skills, reflecting on personal development and identifying areas for future development.
