Course overview
Explore the world of 3D modelling and printing by studying this 12-week introductory course. Discover the technology and characteristics of the additive and finishing processes that are needed to successfully manufacture components.
During this introductory course, our industry-trained teaching team will guide you through the processes and best practice of manufacturing products and components. You will have the opportunity to investigate the design changes required to move from traditional processes such as machining and casting to an additive process.
You will learn skills such as:
- Examining the technology and characteristics of additive processes used in industry
- Investigating component design considerations and finishing processes required for additive processes
- Developing a component safely
At the end of the course, you will have gained the confidence and skills to process and manufacture your own component using a 3D printer.
As this is an introductory course, no formal qualifications are required, although it is advised that learners complete the Introduction to Inventor course prior to enrolment.
To find out more, you can contact Kelly Hannaford by emailing kelly.hannaford@nscg.ac.uk.
You could progress onto a full Level 4 qualification.
This course is FREE to adult learners aged 19+ working within this sector.
