Graphic Design Students Pitch Alton Towers Advertising Campaigns to International Creative Agency VCCP
Artistic students studying Level 3 Graphic and Creative Design at Newcastle College and Stafford College last week pitched their incredible campaigns to representatives from international advertising agency, VCCP and Alton Towers’ Marketing Director to advertise a new season pass for the Staffordshire-based theme park.
Groups of students from each campus put together campaign packages to pitch their ideas to the clients with the overall group from each site going through to a final in the New Year which will also include groups from Stoke-on-Trent College and Stoke Sixth Form.
Although an overall winning team from each campus was chosen, judges were blown away by the quality of the students’ presentations and all runners up were highly commended for their concepts and hard work.
The winning team from Stafford College comprised of Ellis Cooke, Elizabeth Bathew and Sam Bailey who put together a fantastic campaign highlighting the way that an Alton Towers season pass gives you the freedom to explore all the different experiences the park has to offer.
NSCG Stafford College, Curriculum Leader in Graphic Design, Dave Holcroft said: "Working with VCCP closely on an advertising brief like is always a fantastic experience for the students.
"They are guided along the way by professionals from industry who provide crucial insights into job roles and processes and once again, the feedback has been amazing for everyone involved."
At Newcastle College, the winning team consisted of Holly Smith, Millie Powis and Hayden Sims.
NSCG Newcastle College, Curriculum Leader in Graphic Design, Dave Burgess said: "I’m really impressed by the dedication shown by each student during this process. Each pitch was excellent and the judges had a really hard time deciding on the winner.
"I know the Newcastle group will face some stiff competition in the final, but I am confident that they will use the technical and soft skills they have developed in order to produce an outstanding pitch."
The winners from each college will now compete for the top prize at the finale next year.
