The AoC Regional Championships bring together colleges from across the region to compete in 13 sports, with teams aiming to secure the title of Regional Champions and earn qualification for the national stages.

Several teams from the NSCG Academy of Sport finished as runners-up in their respective categories, including Ladies Rugby, Netball and the Stafford Andy Griffin Football Academy (AGFA) teams.

Further success saw NSCG students progress through tough competition to reach the next stage of the championships across six disciplines. Teams qualifying for the national stage include Ladies Football, Men’s Rugby, Men’s and Ladies Badminton, Men’s and Ladies Volleyball and Mixed Hockey, alongside five individual cross-country competitors.

Dave Sutton, Academy of Sport Manager and Curriculum Leader, said: “We couldn’t be prouder of how our students have performed this term. They’ve shown real determination, teamwork and pride in representing the NSCG Academy of Sport and the results speak for themselves. To see so many teams progressing to the national stage, and students earning England Colleges selection, is an incredible achievement and a reward for the hard work they put in week in, week out.”
