NSCG Students Shine at AoC National Championships 2026

The prestigious event brought together over 1,500 competitors from colleges nationwide, with an impressive 63 NSCG students selected to represent the Group across a wide range of sports.

NSCG’s Volleyball teams led the way with exceptional success. The Women’s team were crowned national champions, securing a fantastic gold medal, while the Men’s team also impressed with a strong performance to take home silver.

There were further podium finishes in athletics, with Jack Hadley achieving a bronze medal in the endurance run, alongside a silver medal performance in the girls’ endurance event. 

Team sports also saw notable achievements throughout the competition. The Hockey team delivered a standout moment by defeating the highly regarded Loughborough College, underlining the strength of NSCG sport on a national stage. Meanwhile, the Rugby team celebrated a milestone achievement, winning their first ever game at the National Championships — a significant step forward as both Rugby and Hockey continue to establish themselves in the competition.

Across the tournament, NSCG teams achieved strong overall placings, including:

• Girls’ Football – 6th place
• Hockey – 5th place
• Rugby – 7th place
• Mixed Badminton – 7th place 

These results reflect not only the talent of NSCG’s student athletes but also their dedication, teamwork and commitment to excellence both on and off the field.

The AoC National Championships remain a highlight of the college sporting calendar, providing students with the opportunity to compete at an elite level, develop their skills and create lasting memories.
