Students bring nostalgia to life with exhibition at The Brampton Museum
NSCG Newcastle College students studying Level 3 Extended Diploma in Games, Animation and Concept Art have launched their work experience project at The Brampton Museum and Art Gallery this week.
Under the theme ‘When We Were Young’, the exhibition will showcase a collection of unique, handcrafted pieces inspired by iconic toys and games through the ages, including students' own childhood memories.
As part of the project, students have played an active role in promoting the event by designing posters and creating social media content, and they will also be hosting interactive ‘Meet the Maker’ sessions, offering visitors the chance to connect directly with the artists. Guests can hear about the inspiration behind the works, ask questions, and gain deeper insights into the students’ creative process.
Shannon Ball-Mulley, Curriculum Leader for Level 3 Games Design, Animation, and Concept Art, said: “We are thrilled to present ‘When We Were Young’ at the Brampton Museum. It is a fantastic local venue and this is a wonderful opportunity for the students to share their creative talents and engage with the local community.
“The students have shown brilliant dedication and creativity to bring the exhibition to life and we can’t wait to welcome visitors to celebrate their hard work.”
The ‘When We Were Young’ exhibition is running from 15th January to 10th March at The Brampton Museum and Art Gallery.
