Course overview

Begin your career into professional accounting by studying this Level 2 course. Explore the foundations of finance administration and the core accounting skills needed to climb the career ladder, including double-entry bookkeeping, basic costing, and sales and purchase ledgers. Learn how to control accounts, journals, bookkeeping and banking systems.

The AAT Level 2 qualification is one of the most common starting points traditionally for those who are working, or aim to work, in an accounting role in practice or industry.

Students will also learn about accountancy related business and personal skills and be introduced to the four key themes embedded in the qualification: ethics, technology, communications and sustainability.

If you do not wish to take the full Level 2 AAT qualification, you can complete just the bookkeeping and/or computerised accounting modules and achieve the Level 2 Certificate in Bookkeeping and/or the Level 2 Award in Computerised Accounting. You can choose whether to study in the evening or during the day.

You'll be taught by our qualified and skilled staff who will share their industrial knowledge and experience to you.

You will need five GCSEs A* to C including English and Maths to study this course. Other equivalent qualifications may be considered and there are exemptions for further applicants with relevant workplace experience.

The course is assessed by end of module online exams as set by the AAT. Please not that AAT modules are assessed by computer-based exams. You will require 70% marks to pass each module. There is only one re-sit for each module.
