This comprehensive course offers an excellent introduction to the field of Bricklaying while equipping you with essential general construction skills. Throughout this program, you will develop your practical, knowledge and skill set in Bricklaying.

Key Course Components:Practical Skills Development: A significant portion of your course time will be dedicated to honing your practical skills through a variety of hands-on projects conducted in our well-equipped workshops

Classroom and Computer-Based Learning: Alongside practical training, you'll engage in classroom-based sessions and utilise computer-based resources to deepen your understanding of the tools, materials, and technologies essential to the Bricklaying trade.

Work Experience Opportunities: You are required to complete 24hrs of valuable work experience as an integral part of the course to further enhancing your readiness for the industry.

Industry Exposure: To provide you with real-world insights, the course includes visits to construction companies, allowing you to gain first-hand knowledge of construction practices in diverse settings.

In summary, this course not only gives you the fundamental skills and knowledge required for Bricklaying but also ensures a well-rounded education that opens doors to higher education, employment, or apprenticeship opportunities in the construction sector.

You will need a grade 2 in English and maths at GCSE level.

You will be assessed by the use of practical assessments and assignments that will form part of a portfolio of your work. You will also complete practical and theory tests at the end of your training course.

Upon successfully completing the Level 1 Diploma, you'll have the opportunity to advance to a Level 2 Apprenticeship standard in Bricklaying at NSCG College or opt for a Traineeship with another provider. The Level 2 Apprenticeship standard incorporates a diverse array of knowledge, skills, and behaviours necessary to excel in your profession and successfully complete the end point assessment.

College Maintenance Allowance (CMA): Anyone with a household income under £26,000 can receive up to £20 per week financial support to help pay for travel and meals and meet the costs of essential trips, books, stationery and equipment.
