Level 1 Diploma Introduction to Hair & Beauty Sector (Beauty)

The aim of the course is to provide a programme of training, leading to a nationally recognised professional qualification, for individuals working within the beauty industry. 

This qualification would suit you if you are looking to begin your training in the beauty industry. The programme involves studying units including: professional image, working with others, basic manicure, basic pedicure, skin care, nail art,face painting and health & safety. You learn by completing assignments, 1 exam in Health and Safety and carrying out assessments on clients. 

As part of your study programme you will complete maths and/or English qualifications if you have not already achieved a grade 4 or above. The study programme will also incorporate work experience and a range of work related activities to ensure that you have the breadth of skills required to progress to further training on Level 2 or an apprenticeship.

You will need 2 GCSEs at grade 2 .

This course is free for anyone aged 16 – 18.

College Maintenance Allowance (CMA): Anyone with a gross household income under £35,000 can receive financial support to cover college related costs such as transport, meals, course equipment and uniform. Bursary support is based on individual circumstances and will be allocated to best suit your individual needs.
