Tina McDonald, Head of Music & Performing Arts

We caught up with Tina McDonald, Head of Music & Performing Arts at NSCG to chat about her career history, inspirations and advice for those entering the Performing Arts world...

Q: How did you get in to the Performing Arts?

A: At the age of 11, my young neighbour came home one day and started tap dancing in her driveway on an old wooden door her Dad had put down on the floor as he was doing some DIY. It looked like great fun and she asked If I wanted to go to a dance class with her the following week. I said ‘yes’ and from that moment, I fell in love! After then, I quickly started to have ballet, tap, modern and disco lessons and the rest is history!

Becci Morrell LECTURER: MUSIC PERFORMANCE AND MUSICAL THEATRE

Hi!

I’m Becci Morrell and I’m a Lecturer in Music Performance and Musical Theatre.

I have been teaching at NSCG since 2016. I have been a professional musician for over 20 years, and I have a degree in Music Performance from the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA). When I’m not in College teaching, I tour the UK and Europe with live acts including The George Michael Story or The Johnny Cash Roadshow.

Away from NSCG, I also do a lot of session work, and I have had the opportunity to work with dance group Dario G and Qdos Pantomimes as well as a number of new artists. I love using my experiences and knowledge to help to keep teaching up to date and to current industry standards.
