A Levels and A+ Programmes

If you are an academic learner and want to progress to university or a higher apprenticeship, our two-year A Level or A+ Programmes could be a great option for you.

A Level students typically study three A Level subjects*. But if you have a track record of high achievement, you might also decide to study an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). You must be comfortable studying for, and taking, external exams because that’s how most A Level subjects are assessed at the end of the two years.

An A+ Programme lets you combine A Level subjects with a BTEC Extended Certificate for a better balance of exams and coursework.

*If you are interested in studying Further Mathematics please discuss this at interview.

This is you:

  • I am good at exams
  • I like theories, ideas and facts
  • I want to study three subjects in depth
  • I intend to go on to university or get a higher apprenticeship
  • I’m happy doing independent study and research outside of the classroom

You’ll need:

A minimum of five GCSEs at grade 5 or above including maths and English Language, in subjects relevant to your A Level or A+ Programme subject choices. Some subjects have additional entry requirements. Check out the subject descriptions to learn more.

Your Study Programme:

  • Usually three subjects over two years
  • Relevant work experience
  • Tutorial sessions
  • Enrichment opportunities
  • Independent study and regular homework
  • Internal progression exams and key assessments throughout the course and external final exams in year 2

Think of what you’re capable of. Then think beyond it.

Aim high. If you’d describe yourself as ambitious, hard-working and a high achiever our Honours Programme pathway could help stretch and challenge you to ensure you really stand out from the crowd.

If you have the ability, drive and ambition to go onto study at a prestigious and highly selective university such as those in the Russell Group, our Honours Programme will help you realise your ambitions.

Everything we do in the Honours Programme is about equipping you with the skills and experience that will really make the difference as our consistently high success rates with Oxbridge, medicine and veterinary applications prove.
